SBIR/STTR Summary Reports
General Information - Summary reports and innovation/transition success stories are displayed on the Shopping Mall to facilitate commercialization opportunities. A summary report is an “updated proposal abstract,” thereby requiring minimal preparation time and effort. By contrast, a transition or innovation success story may be appropriate when a SBIR/STTR technology has: (1) transitioned into an Air Force system or subsystem, or when technology originally developed through an Air Force SBIR/STTR project has transitioned into another DoD agency system or subsystem; or (2) successfully met all Air Force SBIR/STTR technology program requirements in Phase II. Questions about summary reports or success stories may be referred to the Shopping Mall Manager at info@sbirsttrmall.com or (937) 429-2294.
Summary Report Submission Methodology – Summary reports must be submitted electronically by small business firms through the Small Business Area of the Shopping Mall.
Prior-Year Summary Reports – In addition to summary reports for active Phase I and Phase II contracts, firms may generate prior-year summary reports on eligible SBIR/STTR contracts. This is a voluntary initiative on the part of the firm.
Some Writing “Do’s and Don’ts” – Although there is no “one best way” for drafting summary reports, we want small business firms to be aware of some fundamental security and public affairs considerations involved within the clearance process.
Summary Report Template – The summary report template depicts the various data fields needed for preparation of an electronic summary report.
